Craft

Heritage Raised. Artisan Cut.

Crafting exceptional pork begins long before the butcher’s block. At Quill Creek Farms, it starts with intentional breeding, ethical care, and hands-on attention throughout the hog’s life.

Berkshire pork is renowned for its:

  • exceptional marbling and short muscle fibers

  • high fat content

  • natural pink hue

  • ability to reflect it's environment

We specialize in Berkshire pork because it’s not just rare — it’s revered. Every step of the process, from feed to finish, is carefully designed to protect the quality that makes this breed stand out.

Journey

From Farm to Fork The Quill Creek Way

Our pork doesn’t just show up on your plate — it takes a journey, and we believe every step should reflect the care and commitment we put into raising our Berkshire hogs.

We believe the best pork is grown, harvested, and shared close to home — and that’s exactly how we do it. This journey supports not just flavour, but community resilience and sustainable farming.

Roots

Where Our Pork Story Begins

At Quill Creek Farms, we raise free-range Berkshire hogs right here in Saskatchewan. These heritage pigs (known in Japan as Kurobuta) are one of the world’s most prized breeds for a reason.

Originally from the English county of Berkshire and improved centuries ago through careful crossbreeding, the modern Berkshire pig is black with white “socks,” a white-tipped tail, and a white nose. But it’s not just their iconic look that makes them stand out, it’s the meat.
